"Joseph's bear is one I made for him when he was 7 (he is now 13). It took me ages to sew, but I managed it, and even put a sqeak inside his tummy. Even though he is so big & old now, Joseph still sleeps with this teddy! He even goes on holiday with us.

You are probably wondering why he has an eye patch & is called 'Mr Scott' - well, for about 15 years I have had a problem with my right eye. It gets inflammation inside it, the medical name for this condition is 'Iritis' or 'Uveitis', and I have to visit the Eye Clinic at our local hospital several times a year, and use steroid eye drops every day. In the summer of 1996, my eye got very bad indeed, and I was visiting the hospital every week for a couple of months.

The doctor I saw was my favourite one, his name is Mr Scott. Joseph used to call the hospital 'Mum's second home', and one day announced he was calling his favorite teddy bear after my favourite Eye Doctor! When I told Mr Scott what Joseph had done, he thought it was really funny, and donated the eye patch for his namesake bear. So, Joseph stuck it on, wrote the name tag, & insisted on me taking some photos....one of which I took to Mr Scott the next time I saw him. The duck with him is Ed-the-Duck, who was a Tv character in England several years ago."
